How this works

Live results for New York's 17th Congressional District, Mike Lawler (Republican) against Cait Conley (Democrat). Rockland County is shown district by district, with its Heimish neighborhoods set apart, because the Heimish districts vote as a bloc.

Results come straight from the Rockland, Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester boards of elections and refresh every minute. If a county's feed is late or down, its numbers may be entered by hand from another official source, such as the state board's results site; the county table says when. They are unofficial until certified, which can take up to 25 days, and absentee and affidavit ballots keep arriving after election night.

Heimish is the word Rockland's Hasidic and yeshivish Orthodox community uses for itself. The Heimish districts are the 46 Rockland election districts where nearly all voters are Heimish, all in the Orthodox neighborhoods of Ramapo: Monsey, New Square, Kaser, Viola, New Hempstead, Spring Valley and nearby. In 2024 Lawler won at least 85% of the vote in each one. Five of the 46 make up New Square, which votes together: about 90% for the Democrat in 2022 and 99% for Lawler in 2024. The map outlines New Square separately.

The 14 districts with Heimish pockets have a sizeable Heimish population alongside other neighbors. These districts are shown separately, so the Heimish districts' numbers aren't diluted and the rest of those districts isn't counted as Heimish. 2022 numbers for every district are estimates, because district lines were redrawn between the two elections.
